Do I love what I do? Completely. I feel so lucky to run a business that fills my cup and lets me serve families in such a meaningful way.

But the reason I work this hard?
So my boys can see the world.
So they grow up knowing experiences matter.
So they watch their mom build something she’s proud of… and then close her laptop to go make memories with them.

Work is part of the story.

Slow season messes with your head long before it messes with your calendar.

If you’re in your first, second, or even third slow season as a photographer, let me say this clearly: nothing has gone wrong. This is part of the rhythm of a sustainable photography business - not a sign you’re failing, fading, or falling behind.

What does matter is how you use this time.

Slow season is where strong systems get built.
Where confidence comes from clarity.
Where learning now means serving your clients better later - with calmer energy, better boundaries, and skills that actually move the needle.

You don’t need to panic.
You don’t need to slash prices.
And you definitely don’t need to figure it all out alone.

Still on vaycay… but my heart keeps drifting back to Costa Rica last November 🌿

I went to connect IRL with like-minded photographers.
I went to recharge in the middle of a full, busy season.
I went to shake myself awake creatively.
I went as a quiet promise to myself that I’ll always invest back into my business.

Majo and her sweet son were absolute magic to photograph in our sun-soaked Airbnb.
Soft light. Bare feet. Simple cuddles.
Slowed down. Intentional. The kind of moments that feel like exhaling.

This is the work I want more of.
This is why I go.

An in-home maternity session can hold both.

Some images are rooted in the real - familiar clothes, lived-in spaces, the rhythm of your everyday life as it exists right now.

Others lean into softness - flowing fabrics from the client closet, gentle styling, a more editorial interpretation of the same season.

Neither is better.
Neither is more “authentic.”

They’re simply two ways of honouring the same moment in time.

When you work with me, we decide together how your maternity story is told. I guide you through movement and posing, help you choose what to wear (from your own closet or mine), and create images that feel calm, connected, and deeply personal.
